What is a Montessori Education?

More than a hundred years ago, Dr Maria Montessori, an inspirational Italian educator developed a unique method of education that she created from her own in depth research and study into childhood learning.

A Montessori classroom provides an environment of specialised activities and materials, some self-correcting, that a child will use at their own readiness. Learning is individualised to each child’s stage of development, interests and needs.

The ultimate goal of a Montessori Education is to prepare a child with the knowledge and skills to become confident, independent, and self-directed life-long learners.
